About Us
Mission Statement
Page One is a charity serving Page County in Virginia. Our humanitarian mission is to provide family assistance to those in our community who find themselves unemployed, sick or unable to feed their family or meet their financial needs due to unforeseen circumstances.
Our History
Page One has been serving the Page County community since 1977. We were organized by individuals and churches who were passionate about meeting the human needs around us. We are growing stronger and helping more every year.
To fund our family assistance program, we operate three thrift stores - two in Luray and the other in Shenandoah. The income from these stores, as well as financial contributions by churches, businesses and individuals, allow us the means to provide these essential services to needy families. Sale items are donations from estates and yard sales including clothes, household goods, books, toys, furniture, and jewelry.
Our Shenandoah location is a branch of our Luray office. In 1979, the Page One Board of Directors approved a location in the southern end of our county to help serve needy families in that area. This location also serves clients with financial assistance (rent, water, fuel, and electric) and a food pantry. Clients may also apply for financial and food assistance two days a week.
Our Food Pantry supports the Shenandoah store with food items as needed.
